Near-infrared benzodiazoles as small molecule environmentally-sensitive fluorophores

Frontiers of Chemical Science and Engineering 2022, Volume 16, Issue 1,   Pages 128-135 doi: 10.1007/s11705-021-2080-8

Abstract: The development of fluorophores emitting in the near-infrared spectral window has gained increased attention given their suitable features for biological imaging. In this work, we have optimised a general and straightforward synthetic approach to prepare a small library of near-infrared-emitting C-bridged nitrobenzodiazoles using commercial precursors. C-bridged benzodiazoles have low molecular weight and neutral character as important features that are not common in most near-infrared dyes. We have investigated their fluorescence response in the presence of a wide array of 60 different biomolecules and identified compound 3i as a potential chemosensor to discriminate between Fe2+ and Fe3+ ions in aqueous media.

Assessing the effects of different dielectrics on environmentally conscious powder-mixed EDM of difficult-to-machine

Jagdeep SINGH,Rajiv Kumar SHARMA

Frontiers of Mechanical Engineering 2016, Volume 11, Issue 4,   Pages 374-387 doi: 10.1007/s11465-016-0388-8

Abstract:

Electrical discharge machining (EDM) is a well-known nontraditional manufacturing process to machine the difficult-to-machine (DTM) materials which have unique hardness properties. Researchers have successfully performed hybridization to improve this process by incorporating powders into the EDM process known as powder-mixed EDM process. This process drastically improves process efficiency by increasing material removal rate, micro-hardness, as well as reducing the tool wear rate and surface roughness. EDM also has some input parameters, including pulse-on time, dielectric levels and its type, current setting, flushing pressure, and so on, which have a significant effect on EDM performance. However, despite their positive influence, investigating the effects of these parameters on environmental conditions is necessary. Most studies demonstrate the use of kerosene oil as dielectric fluid. Nevertheless, in this work, the authors highlight the findings with respect to three different dielectric fluids, including kerosene oil, EDM oil, and distilled water using one-variable-at-a-time approach for machining as well as environmental aspects. The hazard and operability analysis is employed to identify the inherent safety factors associated with powder-mixed EDM of WC-Co.

The Way to Sustainable Development for Steel Companies

Xie Qihua

Strategic Study of CAE 2005, Volume 7, Issue 5,   Pages 9-15

Abstract:

Sustainable development is the only choice for steel companies in China. Starting with environment protection, energy-saving and integrated resource utilization, supported by technology advancement and environmental investment, sustainable development strategy can be implemented to drive the circular economy.Thereby, the long-term harmony and synergy between society and enterprises can be realized.

Development Strategy for Ecological Aquaculture and New Mode of Aquacultural Farming

Fang Jianguang,Li Zhongjie,Jiang Zengjie and Wang Qidong

Strategic Study of CAE 2016, Volume 18, Issue 3,   Pages 22-28 doi: 10.15302/J-SSCAE-2016.03.004

Abstract:

The sustainable development of aquaculture is important for ensuring a steady supply of aquacultural goods, which will in turn improve the food structure and increase farmers' income. This paper summarizes the implications of research on the development strategy for ecological aquaculture and a new mode of aquacultural farming and analyzes the current state of aquaculture development. It also provides a comparative analysis from international perspectives on the aforementioned subjects and the main challenge China faces at present. This paper concludes by presenting a summary of key technologies and recommendations for high efficiency and sustainable development of China's aquacultural farming industry.
